Sachertorte, strudel, chestnut hearts: inside our patisserie

Apple strudel with ice cream and vanilla sauce, orange juice and espresso

TL;DR

  • On Waltherplatz since 1973, starting out as a patisserie
  • Sachertorte, Black Forest gateau and chestnut hearts made to traditional recipes
  • Apple strudel whole to take away, cakes for celebrations made to your wishes

It all began with cake

When Aida opened on Waltherplatz in 1973, it was a patisserie. The bakery is still the heart of the house: Sachertorte, Black Forest gateau and chestnut hearts are made to traditional recipes, fresh every day.

Biscuits, Zelten, pralines and marzipan pigs are made by hand – things that take time and cannot be rushed.

The favourite: our apple strudel

No cake is ordered as often as our homemade apple strudel. Best warm, with vanilla sauce or a scoop of ice cream – and to take home, it comes whole as well.

Cakes for special days

For weddings, birthdays and christenings we make cakes to your wishes. Just ask us, ideally a few days ahead.
